Dear Parents and Guardians:

Happy New Year.  I hope that you all enjoyed a wonderful holiday.

It is with mixed emotions that I am writing to let you know that I will be leaving John Mahood on January 29th, 2016. After 7 years, the transfer doesn’t come as a surprise but it is still difficult to leave such a wonderful school community.

While I am excited and looking forward to the new challenges that lie ahead at Pioneer Park P.S., I will be very sad to leave John Mahood. I was fortunate to work with an incredible team of professionals who care deeply about each and every student; I have thoroughly enjoyed the support and guidance of the dedicated parents that make up our School Council and I can’t say enough about the wonderful group of students who make us smile each and every day. JMA students are respectful, hard-working, creative and above all kind.  Thank you for all you have done as parents to support our school and work in partnership to support your child’s education. I am truly grateful for the support, kind words of encouragement,visits and courageous conversations we have had over the years.

January 29th will be my last day. Dan Enns will be the Principal of JMA as of February 1, 2016. Dan is currently a Vice-Principal twinned between Empire P.S. and McGregor. I am certain Dan will love our school and do a great job.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your support. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and I wish you all the very best.
